Cache memory

Cache is a small amount of memory which is a part of the CPU - closer to the CPU than RAM . It is used to temporarily hold instructions and data that the CPU is likely to reuse.

The cache memory is located very close to the CPU, either on the CPU chip itself or on the motherboard in the immediate vicinity of the CPU and connected by a dedicated data bus. So instructions and data can be read from it (and written to it) much more quickly than is the case with normal RAM.These caches of data are essentially just junk files, and they can be safely deleted to free up storage space.
